Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 1, 2026  ·  Last updated: May 1, 2026

Plain-English summary: Bartr collects the information needed to run a safe, fair ticket marketplace — account details, payment info, and listing activity. We don't sell your data. We share it only with the service providers needed to operate the platform. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time.

1. Who We Are

Bartr Technologies, LLC ("Bartr," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Bartr mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"), a peer-to-peer marketplace for buying and selling tickets to live events. We are headquartered in the United States.

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at info@bartrtix.com.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create a Bartr account, we collect:

  • Name and email address
  • Username you choose
  • Password (stored as a salted hash — never in plain text)
  • Phone number (for verification purposes)

2.2 Identity Verification

Before you can buy or sell on Bartr, we are required to verify your identity to comply with applicable laws and to keep the marketplace safe. This involves:

  • Government-issued ID (collected and processed by our identity verification provider)
  • A selfie or liveness check for matching
  • Date of birth

Identity documents are processed by a third-party provider and are not stored on Bartr's servers beyond what is legally required.

2.3 Payment Information

Bartr uses Stripe to process all payments. We do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or bank account details on our servers. Stripe collects and stores your payment information under Stripe's Privacy Policy. We retain:

  • Last four digits and card type (for display purposes)
  • Billing address
  • Transaction history (amounts, dates, event names)

2.4 Listing and Transaction Data

When you list, buy, bid on, or sell tickets, we collect:

  • Event name, date, venue, and seat information
  • Listing price, bid amounts, and accepted offer amounts
  • Delivery email address (your Ticketmaster or AXS account email, used for verified ticket delivery)
  • Transaction status and timestamps

2.5 Communications

If you message another user through Bartr's in-app chat, we retain those messages to facilitate the transaction and for dispute resolution. We do not read your messages unless required for a dispute or legal request.

2.6 Device and Usage Data

We automatically collect certain data when you use the Service:

  • Device type, operating system, and app version
  • IP address and approximate location (city-level)
  • App usage events (screens viewed, features tapped, session duration)
  • Crash reports and performance diagnostics

2.7 Waitlist Data

If you join our pre-launch waitlist, we collect your email address via Mailchimp. This is used solely to notify you of launch news and early access invitations. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Facilitate ticket listings, bids, purchases, and transfers
  • Process payments and manage escrow during ticket delivery
  • Verify your identity as required for marketplace participation
  • Calculate Deal Scores and provide Smart Pricing AI recommendations (Bartr+ members)
  • Send transactional notifications (purchase confirmations, bid updates, delivery status)
  • Detect and prevent fraud, fake listings, and account abuse
  • Respond to support requests and resolve disputes
  • Improve the Service through aggregate usage analysis
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations

We do not use your information for targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. How We Share Your Information

4.1 Other Users

To facilitate transactions, limited information is shared between buyers and sellers — specifically, the buyer's verified delivery email address (so the seller can complete the ticket transfer) and the seller's username. Full names, phone numbers, and financial details are never exposed to other users.

4.2 Service Providers

We share data with trusted third-party providers who help us operate the Service:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) / Cognito — authentication, cloud infrastructure, and data storage
  • Stripe — payment processing and escrow management
  • Mailchimp — pre-launch waitlist email communication
  • Identity verification provider — government ID matching and fraud prevention
  • Analytics providers — aggregate, anonymized usage analytics

All service providers are contractually bound to use your data only for the purposes we specify and to maintain appropriate security standards.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, subpoena, or court order, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bartr, our users, or the public.

4.4 Business Transfers

If Bartr is acquired, merged, or undergoes a change of control, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice in the app before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with financial recordkeeping requirements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
  • Data portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Opt-out of marketing emails: Use the unsubscribe link in any email

To exercise any of these rights, email info@bartrtix.com or use the "Delete Account" option in the app settings. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive data at rest, and access controls that limit which Bartr employees can access personal data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Bartr is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account on Bartr, please contact us at info@bartrtix.com and we will delete the account promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you via email or a notice within the app at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
