Bartr Technologies, Inc. ("Bartr," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Bartr mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"), a peer-to-peer marketplace for buying and selling tickets to live events. We are headquartered in the United States.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at info@bartrtix.com.
When you create a Bartr account, we collect:
Before you can buy or sell on Bartr, we are required to verify your identity to comply with applicable laws and to keep the marketplace safe. Verification is performed by Stripe Identity and involves:
Your ID images, selfie, biometric comparison data, and date of birth are collected and stored by Stripe under Stripe's Privacy Policy — they are never transmitted to or stored on Bartr's servers. Bartr stores only the outcome (verified or not) and a reference to the verification session.
Bartr uses Stripe to process all payments. We do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or bank account details on our servers. Stripe collects and stores your payment information under Stripe's Privacy Policy. We retain:
Sellers who receive payouts set up a payout account with Stripe. Your bank account details and any information Stripe requires for payouts are collected by Stripe directly; Bartr stores only your payout account identifier and its status. Sale proceeds are held with Stripe, our payment processor, and are paid out after the event takes place.
When you list, buy, bid on, or sell tickets, we collect:
Bartr includes an in-app AI assistant ("Bart") that can answer questions about your listings, sales, and how the marketplace works. When you chat with Bart:
Please don't share sensitive personal information (such as passwords or full payment card numbers) in the assistant chat. If you contact support or file an in-app bug report, we collect your message, your email address, your device model, operating system, and app version, and any screenshots you attach. Bug reports and their screenshots are deleted when you delete your account (see Section 5).
We collect a minimal amount of device data:
The Bartr app does not contain third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs, and we do not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites.
If you join a Bartr mailing list or a city waitlist, we collect your email address. Mailing lists are managed through beehiiv; city-waitlist signups are stored in our own database. These addresses are used solely to send you launch news, availability updates, and early access invitations. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. If you delete your Bartr account, city-waitlist signups tied to your account's email address are deleted with it.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not use your information for targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
To facilitate transactions, limited information is shared between buyers and sellers. Sellers receive the buyer's verified delivery email address (so they can complete the ticket transfer). Other users see your public marketplace profile — your display name, username, profile photo, and seller ratings — on your listings and on shared order screens. Your display name is chosen by you and can be changed at any time in your profile settings; if you don't want it to be your real name, edit it there. Bartr never shares your phone number, payment details, or other financial information with other users, and your account email address is shared only if it is also the delivery email you verified for ticket transfer.
We share data with trusted third-party providers who help us operate the Service:
All service providers are contractually bound to use your data only for the purposes we specify and to maintain appropriate security standards.
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, subpoena, or court order, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bartr, our users, or the public.
If Bartr is acquired, merged, or undergoes a change of control, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice in the app before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with financial recordkeeping requirements. AI assistant conversation transcripts are automatically deleted within 30 days (or immediately when you delete your account).
When you delete your account (via Settings → Delete Account), we promptly delete:
Any active bids or pending offers are cancelled and the resulting holds on your card are released. Your name is anonymized on past listings, bids, and offers. Some records are retained after account deletion:
Keeping a transaction record does not mean keeping everything on it. The delivery email address you verified for an order is removed from that record — and from any chargeback evidence we assembled for it — once the period in which your bank could still dispute the charge has passed. If that period is still open when you delete your account, the address is removed automatically once it closes.
You can ask us to remove retained data that isn't legally required by emailing info@bartrtix.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:
To exercise any of these rights, email info@bartrtix.com or use the "Delete Account" option in the app settings. We will respond within 30 days.
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive data at rest, and access controls that limit which Bartr employees can access personal data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Bartr is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and government-ID identity verification is required before anyone can buy or sell on the marketplace. If you believe a minor has created an account on Bartr, please contact us at info@bartrtix.com and we will delete the account promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you via email or a notice within the app at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
